Topical treatments are the first line for most eczema patients. We prescribe appropriate potency steroids for body sites and duration, and teach safe application to minimise side effects.
Our narrowband UVB unit treats moderate to severe eczema that has not responded adequately to topicals. Sessions are typically two to three times weekly for eight to twelve weeks, supervised by trained phototherapy nurses with ongoing skin monitoring.
When contact dermatitis is suspected, we apply standard and customised allergen panels to the back over three clinic visits. Positive reactions are documented and avoidance strategies are provided in writing.
